Welcome to Biopharmia, a leader in harnessing the potential of microalgae for biotechnological applications. Our story is one of dedication to innovation. Founded in 2014, Biopharmia has been involved in the field of research and development in the field of biopharmaceuticals, leveraging the unique properties of microalgae to produce high-value compounds for various industries.
With an upcoming state-of-the-art facility in Norway, we specialize in the cultivation of microalgae-derived bioactive compounds. Our patented reactors have shown no fouling, 250% higher production capacity and significantly lower energy demands than incumbent solutions.
What we care about
What sparked our commitment was the collapse of the maritime supply in Norway. 80-90% of cod stock in the Oslo fjords are now gone, partly due to overfishing. This is not only a problem in Norway, but rather a global issue. We want to ease the pressure on fishing supply to make it healthy again.
Over the last few decades, global CO2 emissions have grown significantly, driven by economic growth and increased energy demand, particularly in emerging markets. We are committed to using carbon from Co2 emissions in our production, and will play a part in decreasing Co2 emissions.
